Alta Miniature American Shepherds is an award-winning kennel located in beautiful McGrath, Alberta. Owners Val and Kevin raise these stunning dogs on a homestead in the southern prairies. These two proudly share their love for the breed, and are well known in the canine community and for their contribution to the Miniature American Shepherd.

Alta Miniature American Shepherds has built their foundation of quality dogs on Southern Cross, Pocket, Away to Me and Legacy bloodlines. These are some of the best lines to be found in the world of show dogs. Alta is a kennel name know across the globe with dogs in Canada, the United States, South America and Europe.

Dogs here are bred for an all-around animal, excelling in the ring, on the couch, or in the field. Dogs here are titled and tested prior to breeding, and must meet our strict criteria before entering our program. We have several up and coming dogs who are fourth and fifth generation bred here, and they our proving that we are continuously raising our bar!
